Welcome to Department of Physical Education! We started in 2012 as Radha Govind College of Physical Education and are affiliated with Vinoba Bhave University. Now we’re part of Radha Govind University since 2018. Each year, we welcome 100 students in our various programs like B.P.E.S, B.P.Ed, M.A in Physical Education and M.A Yoga.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO1- Comprehensive Understanding of Yoga: Graduates will possess a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of yoga, recent trends, and its philosophical underpinnings. This includes knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to yoga practices.

PEO2- Research Skills: Graduates will be equipped with research methodology and processes in the field of yoga, enabling them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in yoga therapy and alternative therapies. They will understand the principles of Indian philosophy as they relate to yoga.

PEO3- Application of Yoga: Graduates will be adept in applying yoga practices, alternative therapies, and yoga therapy for health management, stress management, and overall well-being. They will have practical experience in yoga methodologies, including practice teaching.

PEO4- Project Work and Dissertation: Graduates will demonstrate their understanding and skills through project works, dissertations, and practical sessions, showcasing their ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the field of yoga.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

PSO1- Proficiency in Yoga Practices: Students will demonstrate a deep understanding and mastery of fundamental yoga principles, recent trends, anatomy, and physiology relevant to yoga. They will exhibit advanced skills in yoga methodologies, including practice teaching, health management, and stress management techniques through practical sessions and applied yoga practices.

PSO2- Research Competence in Yoga: Students will acquire research skills and methodologies specific to yoga, enabling them to conduct thorough investigations into the physiology of yogic practices, yoga therapy, and alternative therapies. They will demonstrate proficiency in research processes, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation, culminating in a dissertation project that contributes to the field of yoga studies.

PSO3- Integration of Yoga Philosophy and Alternative Therapies: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of yoga and principles of Indian philosophy. They will explore applied alternative therapies and their integration into yoga therapy practices, fostering holistic approaches to health and well-being. Through project works and practical sessions, students will demonstrate the application of yoga philosophy and alternative therapies in addressing contemporary health issues and promoting overall wellness.
